Sam Budin is a senior from Columbus, OH, majoring in Chemical Engineering. Sam chose to be a part of Chabad because it is truly her home away from home.It is where she can be herself wholeheartedly without judgement. She also thinks the food is amazing, so that's always a plus! Her favorite Jewish food is matzah ball soup, and her favorite Chabad at Tulane activity is Shabbat dinner.

Leah says "Judaism has always been very important to my family and me. When I came to Tulane as a freshman, I knew I needed to find a Jewish community where I felt at home, and Chabad was the perfect fit. They are so welcoming and I instantly felt comfortable in their community at Tulane."

Carly Shapiro is sophomore majoring in Communications. Carly says, "Chabad has this great atmosphere that makes Friday night Shabbat dinners feel like Friday night Shabbat dinners at home."

Sophia jokes "I'm on board for the challah!", which may be half true but she is also on board for her 5th semester and is a true leader in the Chabad community.

Brandi says "Sophomore year I started coming to Chabad most Friday nights and even on days when nothing was going on. Everyone is so welcoming and accepting, it's like you're part of the family and the home cooked meals are one of a kind and always delicious."

Rebecca says, "College is the first time where sculpting and maintaining your Jewish identity is solely in your hands. Chabad does a fantastic job at helping to educate and welcome students into the tight knit community and providing resources for students to grow Jewishly on their own terms."
Adam Faletsky is a junior from Chicago, IL, majoring in Cell and Mollecular Biology. As a member of the Chabad board, Adam says "After first trying the famous chip salad at shabbat dinner half-way through my freshman year, I was immediately addicted to Chabad Friday night dinner. Eventually, this addiction turned into my commitment to Chabad Student Board and I have loved all that we do for Tulane and its Jewish students." When asked for his favorite Jewish food, he said that it was a tie between challah and matzah ball soup.

When asked why she loves Chabad, Jordan said "Chabad has been my Jewish home away from home at Tulane. I love going to Friday night dinners and eating my weight in chip salad and challah. I chose to get involved with Chabad because I appreciate the community it provides and I want to help get others involved."

Kimmie says, "I started my involvedment with Chabad as their babysitter and immediately felt like I had a home away from home and knew that I wanted to be more involved with Tulane's Chabad."

Garrett Langfeld is a junior from Alameda, CA, majoring in Finance and Computer Science. Garrett is looking forward to using his Chabad board position to increase Jewish student's connections to Judaism through Jewish rituals, and also to increase his own understanding of Torah and Jewish customs. Garrett's favorite Jewish dish is latkes, and his favorite Chabad at Tulane activity is Pizza Parsha.

Fun Fact: "On a BBYO trip to Bulgaria, I met the only Jew under 18 in the country of Albania!"

Alexa Levinson is a senior from Jacksonville, FL, majoring in Neuroscience. Alexa says "I chose to be involved in Chabad because it introduced me to some of my closest friends here and really made Tulane feel like home" Her favorite Jewish food is Kugel and her favorite Jewish song is Dayenu.
Gabby Posess is a junior from Boca Raton, FL majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience. She loves braiding Challah for Shabbat on Thursday night, at Chabad, and, Challah dipped in honey is one of her favorite Jewish dishes. Gabby says "I choose to come to Chabad because of its welcoming atmosphere (not to mention its amazing food). I love the hands on experience of being able to bake challah and help prepare for the meals! I really feel like a part of the family and I can truly say it has become my home away from home for me and so many of my friends!."
Karen Schaeffer is a junior from Memphis, TN, majoring in Cell and Mollecular Biology. In her spare time, she plays on the Tulane Quidditch team! Karen's favorite Jewish song is Eili, Eili.
